Founded in 1988 by Andrew and Brian Symington, Signatory Vintage is now a leading independent publisher and distributor of whisky, widely respected by consumers.
Signatory has a tradition, highly valued by whisky lovers, of labelling each cask strength with information about the cask number, type, date of filling, bottling and the number of bottles to which the release is limited. The Braeval 21 year old presented here was distilled on 16 February 2000 and aged in a refilled sherry butt (no. 6393). Bottled on 18 February 2021 at cask strength (60.3% abv) in the prestigious Cask Strength Collection in an edition of 591 bottles. The Braeval single malt is one of the key components of Chivas blends.
Nose: toffee apples, blackberries, plums, almond croissants, milk chocolate, honey, caramel, marzipan, mocha, notes of cinnamon, cloves and oak.
Flavor : chocolate cake, raisins, orange peel, prunes, marzipan, honey, brown sugar, toffee, nougat, cinnamon, candied ginger and oak.
Finish: quite long, with notes of honey, roasted nuts and almonds, milk chocolate, dark berries, nutmeg and oak.
