Founded in 1988 by Andrew and Brian Symington, Signatory Vintage is now a leading independent publisher and distributor of whisky, widely respected by consumers.
Signatory has a tradition, highly valued by whisky lovers, of labelling each cask strength edition with information on the cask number and type, the date it was filled, bottled and the number of bottles to which the release is limited. The Caperdonich 20 years old presented here was distilled on 6th July 2000 and aged in hogshead cask no. 29483. Bottled on 22nd February 2021 at cask strength (56.8% abv) in the prestigious Cask Strength Collection in an edition of 274 bottles. Caperdonich Distillery last distilled in 2002 and the estate is currently owned by still manufacturer Forsyth of Rothes.
Nose: vanilla, freshly fried pancakes, breakfast cereals, apples, pears, mirabelle plums, coconut water, cinnamon, a pinch of ginger, damp sand, hay and oak.
Palate : slightly waxy, honey, vanilla pudding, coconut, green tea, green apples, gooseberries, white pepper, lemongrass, notes of licorice and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, breakfast cereal, country orchard fruit, white pepper and oak.
