Product description
Phraya is a word once used in Thailand to describe one of the highest ranks awarded to subordinates by the king.
It was to reflect not only the highest devotion in service to the king, but also the exceptional qualities of the person to whom this rank was conferred. The Phraya brand saw the light of day in 2011 at the SangSom distillery, one of the oldest rum distilleries in Thailand, founded in 1977. The rum is made from locally grown sugar cane, is made from molasses and matured in oak barrels, charred from the inside. To prevent excessive evaporation due to the high, tropical temperatures, the oak barrels of Phraya rum are matured in specially prepared warehouses, where the floor is 4 meters below ground level, located right next to the sea lagoons.
Phraya Elements is a molasses-based rum, distilled in column stills and matured for an undisclosed period in American bourbon oak barrels in warehouses in Thailand.
