Product description
Dzama Rhum was founded in 1980 on the island of Nosy Be off the northern coast of Madagascar.
The company was founded with the idea of packaging Scotch whisky, but along with bottling whisky, the issue of using empty barrels arose. The idea for using them was to mature local rum. Soon, the success of the rum trade and the need to rationalize transport costs forced the transfer of the business to the capital of the island, Antananarivo. Currently, Dzama Rhum controls 60% of the alcohol market in Madagascar.
