Product description
Tanqueray gin, the creation of Charles Tanqueray, debuted in 1830 and quickly gained popularity. The family business was acquired by United Distillers in 1986, and today Tanqueray gin is in the Diageo portfolio.
Originally distilled in London, it is now distilled in Scotland at the Cameronbridge distillery. The brand's annual sales are 4.1 million cases (2020), which makes it the third most popular gin; Gordon's leads the statistics with 6.7 million cases, and Bombay Sapphire is second with 4.3 million cases. The Tanqueray London Dry gin formula lists just four ingredients: juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root and licorice. The latest version of Tanqueray (spring 2021) is Blackcurrant Royale, another gin inspired by Charles Tanqueray's travels. In addition to the four basic ingredients mentioned above, its formula includes fresh French blackcurrants and vanilla.
Tanqueray Blackcurrant Royale is a gin with a rich fruity and floral palette, combining the notes of classic Tanqueray London Dry with a hint of vanilla and blackcurrants.
We recommend serving it with a few ice cubes, a delicate premium tonic, a slice of lime and a handful of dark berries.
