Product description
The Fettercairn distillery was founded in 1824 by Sir Alexandra Ramsay. Since 1973, it has been owned by Whyte & Mackay, whose assets were acquired in 2014 by Filipino brandy producer Emperador Inc.
The plant uses a unique distillation technique - while receiving the middle fraction, the neck of the still is cooled by water, which increases the contact of the vapors with copper and, as a result, a more delicate distillate. Fettercairn produces over 3 million liters of distillate per year, and although most of it goes to Whyte & Mackay blends, several interesting single malt editions have debuted in recent years. The latest of them, 22 years old, a proposal from 2020, contains whisky aged in bourbon barrels.
