Oslo Norwegian Small Batch Gin / 45.8%/ 0.5l
- Oslo gin has perfectly balanced nose, with aromas of juniper berries, herbs and citrus.
Product description
Oslo gin is a product of the Norwegian Det Norske Brenneri, a company established in 2005, the year that ended the state monopoly on the production of alcoholic beverages (the company's original name was Puntervold/Agder Brenneri, and it has been using its current name since 2011). Oslo gin debuted in 2016, shortly after the success of another gin from this producer, Harahorn, which won a gold medal at the World Spirit Competition in San Francisco. Both the name and the label showing a map of the city are a nod to one of the smallest metropolises in the world (about 700,000 inhabitants), the capital of Norway, Oslo, whose picturesqueness is emphasized by the surrounding forests and fjords. The gin's formula, in addition to juniper berries, lists, among others: angelica root, elderberry, coriander seeds, birch leaves and local herbs whose names we are unable to translate (e.g. kvan, a plant somewhat similar in appearance to angelica). Oslo is a typical small batch gin produced in batches of no more than 400 litres.
Oslo is a gin with a perfectly balanced aromatic bouquet, where the classic scent of juniper is perfectly balanced by herbal and citrus notes. In taste, the breath of the earth, juniper, pine needles, a lot of herbs, a bit of vanilla and a subtle fruity note. We recommend serving with Fever Tree Indian Tonic with a piece of lime and/or a mint leaf.
