Maker's Mark Private Select, Weisshaus Selection /53.9% / 0.7l
- After launching Maker’s 46 in 2010 Maker’s Mark Distillery keeps experimenting with whisky maturation.
Product description
Since the launch of Maker's 46 in 2010, Maker's Mark Distillery has been constantly experimenting with new finishing variants.
One of the fruits of the aforementioned experiments is a special barrel purchase program (Private Select), which allows the buyer to create a Maker's Mark bourbon that best suits their own taste preferences. The base is a fully aged Maker's Mark barrel to which 10 non-standard staves can be added to obtain a unique aromatic and flavor profile. The choice of staves (any combination of five flavor profiles) is of course decided by the barrel buyer, and after they are installed, the barrel rests in the distillery's limestone warehouse for a period of several to a dozen or so weeks. The Private Select edition presented here comes from a barrel selected by the Austrian Weisshaus store, and staves made of American and French Limousin oak with various degrees of roasting and different wood structures were hung in it. The final maturation lasted 9 weeks. (Official tasting note.)
