Product description
Sierra Norte is a whiskey from the land of tequila and mezcal produced in Oaxaca by Douglas French.
French began his distilling career in 1995 by producing mezcal from agave he cultivated. However, overproduction and growing supplies of mezcal forced him to switch production to other alcoholic beverages or close down after 20 years. He chose whiskey, the distillation of which he based on old native varieties of corn. The presented Sierra Norte Black Corn is a whiskey double-distilled in copper pot stills from a mash of 85% black corn and 15% malted barley and aged for 10 months in French oak barrels. It is released in single barrel editions.
