Claude Chatelier is a cognac from the portfolio of Maison Ferrand, a boutique producer of alcoholic beverages.
The company was founded in 1989 by cognac luminary Alexandre Gabriel with a mission to preserve traditional production methods while applying new and efficient solutions. Maison Ferrand co-owns the 247-acre Logis d'Angeac vineyard and has its own distillery in the heart of the Grande Champagne region, which has been in operation since 1776. In addition to cognac, the company produces Citadelle Gin and Plantation rums, and its products are available in 68 countries. The Claude Chatelier XO presented here is a blend of eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne region aged for a minimum of 10 years.
Aroma: vanilla, honey, hazelnuts, a bouquet of dry flowers, black cherries, apricots, plums, traces of tobacco and leather and quite strong notes of oak.
Palate: mild, oranges, nectarines, dried figs and plums, vanilla, milk chocolate, roasted almonds, oak and a touch of tobacco.
Finish : long with distinct notes of oak, vanilla, chocolate, dried fruit and a hint of spices.
