- Knockdhu, founded 1894, was the first distillery established by DCL (Distillers Company Limited).
Product description
Knockdhu, the first distillery built by DCL (Distillers Company Limited), commenced operation in 1894.
The plant was closed in 1983 and five years later it became the property of Inver House Distillers, which has been part of the Thai Pacific Spirits group since 2001. While official editions of this single malt are released as AnCnoc, independent publishers use the distillery’s name. The Knockdhu presented here, distilled in April 2008, spent over 11 years in a No. 10 barrel (American oak), and was bottled at cask strength (59% abv) in the Malt Legends series in 2019 for the German market. Unfortunately, we have no information about “Malt Legends”.
