Product description
Teerenpeli Distillery is an investment by Anssi Pyysing from 2002. The plant is located in the town of Lahti, in the building where the Pyysings ran a restaurant and was originally equipped with a pair of small stills.
In October 2015, a new distillery was built in the building of the family brewery, capable of producing over 100,000 liters of distillate per year, while the original one serves as a "distillation laboratory".
Teerenpeli distills from locally grown barley, and uses bourbon, sherry and port barrels to mature the whisky. Savu (Finnish for "smoke"), a smoky and peated version of this single malt (35 ppm in malt), debuted in the summer of 2018. The whisky is a blend of distillates aged in bourbon barrels (80%) and Pedro Ximénez sherry barrels (20%) and is released at 43% ABV.
