Product description
Crown Royal whisky made its great debut in 1939 as part of the celebration of the visit of King George VI and his daughter Elizabeth to Canada.
Since 2001 the brand has been owned by Diageo and remains the second (behind Johnnie Walker) best selling whisky brand in the company portfolio with annual sales reaching 6.8 million cases. Crown Royal has been extremely popular in Canada and the US and in recent years Diageo significantly extended the product line. The Black expression was launched in 2010. The portion of whisky used for the blend was aged in heavily charred new oak barrels. While the standard Crown Royal is bottled at 40% abv, the alcohol content in Black has been elevated to 45% abv.
