- The Templeton brand was launched in 2006 by Iowa-based Templeton Rye Spirits LLC.
Product description
Templeton Rye whiskey debuted in 2006 from Templeton Rye Spirits LLC based in Templeton, Iowa.
The whiskey came from MGP Ingredients in Indiana and was distilled from a mash of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. Templeton Distillery began distilling in August 2018, but for the next few years, the brand will focus on Indiana-based whiskey. Templeton Rye Caribbean Cask Finish debuted in 2020 and is the second entry in the “Barrel Finish Series.” After five years of maturation in fresh American oak barrels, the whiskey was finished for another six months in Jamaican rum barrels. It is bottled at 46% abv and unchill-filtered.
