Product description
Bonailie is a contemporary blended malt whisky produced at Bladnoch Distillery.
Its name derives from an old Scottish expression meaning “a drink taken with a friend when one is about to part with him; as expressive of one’s wishing them a prosperous journey.” Although little is known about the Bonailie formula, one can take an educated guess, assuming Bladnoch remains its main component. The whisky is bottled at 40% abv without an age statement. Every part of the package has been sourced with the environment in mind, including a commitment to offset a carbon footprint. Even the labels are printed using organic, recycled paper made from crushed barley.
Nose: smooth, floral, bunch of wild flowers, malted barley, vanilla, butterscotch, sugar cookies, apples, pears, hints of ginger and oak.
Palate: vanilla, coconut flakes, buttered croissant, white peaches, baked apples sprinkled with brown sugar, mocha, a touch of lemon grass and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, sweet pastries, milk chocolate, orchard fruits, and a dash of mixed spice.
