Jack Daniel's whiskey is distilled from a mash of 80% corn, 8% rye and 12% malted barley. Before maturation begins, according to the definition of Tennessee Whiskey, the distillate undergoes the "charcoal mellowing" process. The brand's calling card is the Old No.7 presented here.

Nose: sweet, caramel, maple syrup, vanilla, orange peel, banana peel, roasted nuts, cinnamon and charred oak.

Palate: buttered popcorn, vanilla, caramel, toffee, banana chips, baked apples, cloves, cinnamon, hints of licorice and charred oak.

Finish: medium long, with notes of charcoal, caramel, vanilla, banana cake and a pinch of cinnamon.
