There is no doubt in our mind that Glengoyne Distillery is one of the most beautiful whisky making facilities in Scotland and over 60,000 visitors each year just confirm that statement.
It is a small distillery with very attractive product range including whiskies aged from 10 to 25 years as well as NAS Cask Strength expression. Glengoyne 30 years old was launched in the fall of 2017 as a forerunner to annual limited releases. The 2020 limited release is a vatting of 13 European oak ex-Oloroso sherry casks both first and second fill. The whisky was bottled at 46.8% abv with an outrun of 5200 bottles.
Nose: complex, black cherries, plums, orange marmalade, raisins, chocolate truffles, nutmeg, tobacco, hints of balsamic vinaigrette and furniture polish.
Palate: rich, chocolate-coated raisins, prunes, dried dates, oranges, black pepper, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, walnuts and sherried oak.
Finish: very long, with notes of dark chocolate, raisins, clove, cinnamon, pepper, sherry and oak.
