Product description
In 2020, Arran Distillery celebrated its silver jubilee. Construction began in 1993 (when Scotch whisky producers were still struggling to survive), and the first drops of distillate flowed from the stills on August 17, 1995. The driving force behind the project was Harold Currie, previously a director of Chivas Bros., who issued 2,000 bonds redeemable for Arran single malt in order to raise funds for the construction. It debuted in 1998 and has gained a legion of admirers over the years. The jubilee edition, an absolute jewel in Arran's crown, is based solely on whisky distilled in the first year of operation, 35% of which was matured in sherry casks and 65% in bourbon casks. The whole thing was finished for 12 months in first-fill and refill sherry hogshead casks. The edition consisted of 3 thousand bottles. (Official tasting note.)
