In December 2019, Dalmore Distillery announced a new series of whiskies intended for exclusive distribution in the Travel Retail chain.
Dalmore, currently the fifth largest single malt in duty-free sales, has seen turnover grow by 950% between 2010 and 2018. The new range comprises three editions – The Trio, The Quartet and The Quintet – finished in three, four and five casks respectively, and is inspired by the iconic Dalmore King Alexander III (finished in six casks). The Tercet presented here was finished in first-fill bourbon casks, 30-year-old Matusalem sherry casks and 10-year-old Tawny Port casks.
Aroma : caramel, vanilla, toffee, sponge cake, plums, nectarines, raspberries, orange peel, notes of cinnamon and cloves.
Palate: red berries, raspberries, strawberries, plums, milk chocolate, toffee, honey, allspice, cinnamon and a hint of tobacco.
Finish : medium long, with notes of toffee, honey, chocolate gingerbread, raisins, mulled wine spice and oak.
