Product description
The Balvenie DCS Compendium is a collection of limited edition Balvenie single malts compiled by David Stewart, the distillery's fifth and longest-serving Malt Master.
He selected 25 barrels of whisky, which are divided into five series summarizing his career at Balvenie. The opening chapter of the collection, “Distillery Style,” debuted in 2015; it closed four years later with “Malt Master Indulgence,” which emphasizes trust in the knowledge of the master maltster and tolerance for the decisions he makes. The uniqueness of the Balvenie 2001 presented here, according to Dave Stewart, lies in the type of barrel – it is the first whisky from this distillery to be matured in a Fino sherry barrel (no. 9325). On April 14, 2019, its contents translated into 400 bottles. Other aces of the final five are undoubtedly the 1962 vintages (cask no. 5575) and 1974 (cask no. 17706). They were filled to 90 and 85 bottles, respectively.
