Product description
Blackpitts is the second edition of Teeling whiskey distilled exclusively at the company's Dublin distillery, and the company's first smoky and peaty offering.
The barley used in it comes from Glenesk in Speyside and after malting it had a phenol concentration of 55ppm, however triple distillation reduced it to 15ppm. The name of the whiskey refers to the Blackpitts district located just behind the distillery, where in the past the largest Dublin malt houses were located. Teeling Blackpitts is a blend of distillates aged in ex-bourbon barrels (approximately 2/3) and ex-Sauternes barrels (approximately 1/3) bottled at 46% abv and without chill filtration.
