The Dublin Liberties Copper Alley is a whiskey brand from the Quintessential Brands Group portfolio, a company founded in 2011 by former Gruppo Campari CEO Enzo Visone and investment banker Warren Scott.
Dublin Liberties Distillery is located in Dublin city centre and began distilling in early 2019. Copper Alley, named after one of Dublin’s oldest streets, debuted in autumn 2016. It is a 10-year-old single malt from an undisclosed distillery, aged in bourbon barrels and finished in Oloroso sherry casks for 6 months. In 2019, the whiskey won a double gold medal at the International Spirit Challenge.
Aroma : fruity and sweet, milk chocolate, honey, golden syrup, vanilla, sultanas, dried apricots, pineapples, oranges and a bit of cinnamon.
Taste : pleasantly balanced, honey, vanilla, milk chocolate, sugar-roasted almonds, raisins, cinnamon, white pepper and candied ginger.
Finish: quite long, initially sweet and fruity, soon becoming spicy with hints of nuts and oak.
