Product description
Tobermory is the only distillery currently operating on the Isle of Mull.
The annual production of 750 thousand liters is divided equally between two single malts – Tobermory and Ledaig (the latter is a whisky distilled from malt with a concentration of phenol compounds of 35-40 ppm). In March 2017, Tobermory suspended distillation due to the replacement of stills and a general renovation of the buildings. It resumed it only after two years. Tobermory 23 years old joined the core offer in September 2020. Originally aged in refill casks, it spent the last nine years in Oloroso sherry casks.
Nose: pronounced notes of sherry, raisins, sultanas, toffee, vanilla pods, sugared almonds, prunes, orange peel, Christmas gingerbread and oak.
Palate : raisins and sherry, roasted nuts and almonds, sea salt caramel, honey, vanilla, bitter orange jam, licorice, candied ginger and a light oak bitterness.
Finish: quite long, with notes of sherry-soaked raisins, salted caramel, roasted nuts and almonds, orange peel and oak.
