Bowmore 17-year-old (Screen Printed Label) / 43% / 0.7l
- The word “Bowmore” derives from Gaelic “Bogh Mòr” and means “great sea reef”.
Product description
The word bowmore comes from the Gaelic bogh mòr meaning "great reef".
This is the name of the administrative capital of Islay (actually a village with less than a thousand inhabitants) and a distillery that has been producing whisky since 1779, the oldest of its kind on the island. Bowmore 17 years old debuted in the late 1980s and was considered by many to be the pride of the distillery's basic offer. In 2014, it was replaced by the White Sands version, also 17 years old, but based on distillates aged exclusively in bourbon barrels. Presented here in an extremely attractive bottle with a print, it comes from the 1990s.
