Product description
Smooth Ambler Spirits is headquartered in Maxweltown, West Virginia, and has been operating since 2009.
In addition to distilling gin, vodka and whiskey, the company operates as an Independent Bottler, bottling whiskey and rum. Whiskey from other distilleries and processed on site is released under the Old Scout name. Contradiction Bourbon debuted in 2015 and was a blend of the company's own 2-year-old wheat bourbon and 9-year-old bourbon from MGP Indiana. The drink received excellent press, but its formula underwent minor changes in subsequent editions. The Batch 297 presented here is marked "expertly blended from whiskey distilled in West Virginia, Tennessee and Indiana". In December 2016, Pernod Ricard purchased a majority stake in Smooth Ambler Spirits.
