Product description
Widow Jane Distilling Company is based in Red Hook (part of Brooklyn, New York).
It was founded in 2012 by Daniel Prieto Preston, owner of Cacao Prieto, a chocolate maker. Daniel grew up in Rosendale, New York, a limestone mining center. The last mine there closed in 1970, and after the owner’s death, the place was renamed the Widow Jane Mine. Widow Jane Distilling Company recently began distilling in Red Hook, but its previous releases have been based on Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana distillates aged for at least two years in American oak barrels and processed on site with Rosendale water. The Batch #36 presented here hit the market in late 2020.
