Product description
Kavalan Distillery (originally Yuan Shand Distillery), based in Taiwan, is first and foremost a producer of fine whisky.
Built in 2005 by King Car Industrial Company, it won 180 medals and awards in its first decade. After being expanded twice, the plant has 20 stills capable of distilling almost 10 million liters of alcohol per year. In 2019, Kavalan's offer included a gin based on triple-distilled barley spirit. In addition to the traditional ingredients, juniper berries, coriander and anise, master distiller Ian Chang included kumquat peel, dried star fruit and guava extract in the formula. The gin is presented in a beautiful blue and white bottle, where the blue symbolizes the clean mountain water and the white its transformation into gin. (Producer's tasting note.)
Aroma: fresh and elegant, delicate tones of juniper, anise and coriander balanced by citrus notes of kumquats and orange.
Palate: rich and refreshingly sweet, tropical notes of guava, star fruit and zesty kumquats broken by traditional notes of juniper and pine needles.
