Product description
Aultmore Distillery is located in Speyside, near Keith. It was built in 1896 by Alexander Edward, owner of the Benrinnes Distillery.
The name of the plant (Gaelic for “great stream”) refers to the Auchinderran stream, which provides water for production. Since 1923, Aultmore has been owned by John Dewar & Sons (now a subsidiary of Bacardi Ltd.) and most of the whisky distilled there goes into Dewar's blends, which severely limits the supply of local single malt. The 21-year-old presented here debuted in 2014 at Travel Retail, and a few years later went global. It is released in small batches, and the spirits used in the blend come from refill hogshead casks.
