Product description
The Balvenie DCS Compendium is a collection of limited edition Balvenie single malts compiled by David Stewart, the distillery's fifth and longest-serving Malt Master.
He selected 25 barrels of whisky, which, divided into five series, summarise his career at Balvenie. The opening chapter of the collection, “Distillery Style”, debuted in 2015; it closed four years later with “Malt Master Indulgence”. Balvenie 1993 is part of the third quintet, entitled “Secrets of the stock model”, dedicated to strategic decisions regarding the management of stocks, taking into account market trends and, of course, the “angel’s share”. The whisky presented here, distilled on 6 December 1993, spent over 23 years in a refill hogshead cask no. 11621 (American oak). On 19 June 2017, its contents translated into 213 bottles. Vintage 1993 also commemorates the year in which Balvenie Distillery began selling its whisky in the bottles it uses today. (Creator’s note.)
