Early Times Kentucky Whiskey 150th Anniversary Edition / 50% / 0.375l
- Early Times is one of Kentucky oldest whisky brands; it was first distilled in 1860.
Product description
Early Times debuted in 1860 and is one of the oldest American whiskey brands.
Prohibition forced the distillery to close; in 1923, the brand rights and inventory were acquired by Brown-Forman, a company with a license to distribute “medicinal whiskey.” After Prohibition was repealed, Early Times production was moved to Louisville. Until 1983, bourbon was marketed under the Early Times brand, and later Kentucky whiskey (aged in first-fill and refill American oak barrels). The edition presented here, released in 2010 to celebrate the brand’s 150th anniversary, consisted of 3,000 cases and contains whiskey bottled at 50% abv. Exactly 10 years later, the rights to Early Times were purchased by the Sazerac Company of New Orleans.
