Product description
Single malt Smokehead debuted in 2006 in the Ian Macleod Distillers range and caught the attention of consumers with its unusual presentation.
Ian Macleod is the owner of the Glengoyne, Tamdhu and Rosebank distilleries, as well as several so-called "whisky brands". The company does not disclose which Islay distillery is behind the Smokehead brand, many lovers of local malts believe it is Ardbeg. The Rum Rebel presented here debuted in the summer of 2020 on International Rum Day; the whisky from an undisclosed Islay distillery, after a basic maturation in refill casks, was finished in Caribbean rum casks. A year earlier, the Travel Retail chain released Smokehead Rum Riot, also finished in Caribbean rum casks, but bottled at 43% abv.
