Product description
Springbank Distillery was established in 1828 on a site previously occupied by illegal distilling operations and remains Scotland's most unique whisky producer to this day.
It has been owned by the Mitchell family since 1837 and in the 21st century is the only distillery to carry out the entire production cycle on one property.
To celebrate the new millennium, the company has prepared an unprecedented edition of six whiskies – 25, 30, 35, 40, 45 and 50 years old. They hit the market from September 1998 to March 2001 in the following batches: 25 and 30 years old, 2,500 bottles each; 35 years old, 1,500 bottles each; 40, 45 and 50 years old, 580 bottles each. We present here whisky distilled in the 1960s. (Producer's tasting note.)
Springbank 30 years old – strong aroma of roasted nuts, dried fruit, honey and sea breeze; in the mouth strong notes of sherry, cherries, apricots, dried plums, raisins, honey, traces of salt and pepper; long finish, a combination of brine with strong tones of sherry with minimal oak bitterness.
