Product description
Rebel Yell is a mid-1930s wheat bourbon produced for the Southern States by Stitzel-Weller Distillery using the W.L. Weller bourbon formula.
The label assures the consumer that the whiskey's recipe dates back to 1849, the same year William LaRue Weller & Brother was founded. Until 1984, Rebel Yell was available only in the South, and its local success led to its expansion into other states. In 1999, the brand was acquired by David Sherman Company (now Luxco, Inc.), based in St. Louis, Missouri. Luxco does not own a distillery and does not disclose which Kentucky distillery is behind Rebel Yell, likely the Heaven Hill Bernheim Distillery.
