Product description
At the end of 2018, Jack Daniel's Distillery began releasing a new, limited edition series, "Tasters' Selection."
In the words of master distiller Jeff Arnett, “This collection presents the whiskey creation process from the perspective of our experienced master tasters. Each release is the result of experimentation in achieving a unique bouquet of aromas and flavors in the final product. The master tasters play a huge part in the creation of our whiskey, which is why we plan to honor them with several releases each year.” Each release in the series consists of approximately 24,000 bottles. The “Hickory Smoked” presented here combines two Lynchburg traditions in one bottle – Tennessee whiskey and barbecue. It is a traditional Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 finished in barrels to which charred hickory staves have been added.
Nose: Smoky, grilled bacon, caramel, vanilla, popcorn, apples, toasted grain and charred wood.
Palate : Hickory-smoked meats, burnt sugar, vanilla, honey, buttery popcorn, peanut butter and grilled smoke.
Finish: fairly long, with notes of burnt sugar, toffee, hickory-smoked meats and smoke.
