Product description
The Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old Luscious Nectar is a single malt Scotch whisky produced by the Dufftown distillery, part of the Diageo Group. This version has a smooth flavour profile, typical of Speyside whiskies. The Singleton of Dufftown 12 Year Old Luscious Nectar is a new incarnation of Singleton of Dufftown matured for 12 years in American and European oak barrels, blended from spirits aged in ex-bourbon casks with a touch of ex-sherry casks.
The term “Singleton” was used by whisky brokers in the early 20th century to describe single malt casks of exceptional quality, the only ones in their stock. This almost forgotten term came back into circulation in 1986, used in the edition of “The Singleton of Auchroisk”, and exactly 20 years later it spread around the world thanks to the marketing department of Diageo and the global release of three 12-year-old “Singletons” on three continents – Dufftown in Europe, Glen Ord in Asia and Glendullan in America. These whiskies were a great introduction to the rich world of single malts. The Singleton of Dufftown 12-year-old Luscious Nectar will work well both on its own and in simple cocktails.
