Product description
The A.H. Riise brand is named after a Danish botanist and pharmacist, Albert Heinrich Riise, who moved to the Caribbean in 1838.
In the Danish colony on the island of St. Thomas, he was granted a monopoly for pharmaceutical activity and production of spirits from the Danish government. The spirits portfolio initially included only rum and herbal bitters that were used in the treatment of alimentary conditions. The rum manufactured by the Danish botanist soon gained a following, irrespective of its curative properties. In time, it got to be exported outside the Caribbean, including above all Denmark. Today, A.H. Riise Spirits is one of the largest Scandinavian spirits companies, whose offer includes a wide variety of brands and types of spirits in addition to the original A.H. Riise rum.
A.H. Riise Non Plus Ultra Very Rare is a rum composed from the oldest and most exquisite drops of spirit maturing in oak barrels in the company’s warehouses.
