Product description
Gelston's Old Irish Whiskey is the creation of Samuel Gelston in 1830. His company was based in Belfast and was one of the leading importers and distributors of wines and spirits.
After Gelston's death in 1869, the company was purchased by Harry J. Neill, a whiskey enthusiast who had made his fortune in Australia during the 1950s gold rush. Five generations later, the Gelston brand is still owned by the Neill family, specifically HJ Neill Ltd. Gelston's Rare Gelston's Port Cask Finish is one of three "wood finishes" for the brand (the other two are sherry and rum). The whiskey comes from an undisclosed distillery and was aged for 12 years, the last 4-5 months in Douro Superior port casks.
