Product description
Malt Riot blended malt whisky debuted in 2020 from Glasgow Distillery.
This small distillery (capacity 270,000 litres of spirit per year) was established in 2015 and is the first to open in the city in modern times. The name Malt Riot refers to the protests in 1725 sparked by the introduction of the government's malt tax. In Glasgow, they became very confrontational, tax officials were driven out of the city and the house of Daniel Campbell, a member of parliament who voted for the tax, was burned down. Malt Riot Blended Malt Vat No. 6 is a blend of single malt whiskies from across Scotland, based on the company's own single malt Glasgow 1770.
