Product description
Duncan Taylor's Lonach Collection celebrates the annual Lonach Gathering of Highland clans held at the end of August at Starthdon in Aberdeenshire.
This is one of the oldest events of its kind and attracts crowds of tourists every year, who admire the traditional, colourful costumes of the clansmen heading to the village of Bellebeg to support the "Highland Games". On the way, they are treated to a glass of whisky by the locals. To celebrate the event, Duncan Taylor prepares limited editions of whisky for all participants and guests of the event. One of the proposals in 2008 was Caperdonich 1969, bottled at cask strength (42.2% abv) after 39 years of maturation.
Nose: rich, pears, tangerines, mango, honey, vanilla, anise, ginger, mint leaf, chamomile tea, licorice, potpourri, hay and oak notes.
Taste: surprisingly fresh, pineapples, raspberries, lemons, vanilla, maple syrup, white pepper, ginger, licorice and perfectly woven oak bitterness.
Finish: not too long, with notes of slightly sour berries, white pepper, ginger, vanilla and oak.
