Product description
Hendrick's gin is the creation of two master distillers from Wm Grant & Sons – Lesley Gracie and David Stewart, who have been responsible for Balvenie and Glenfiddich single malts for decades.
Its formula includes 12 botanicals: juniper, orange and lemon peel, orris root and angelica, elderberry, cubeb pepper, grains of paradise, yarrow, chamomile, cumin, cucumber and rose petals, and distillation takes place at Wm Grant & Sons' Girvan Distillery. Mrs. Gracie's latest creation (spring 2020) is the Amazonia Gin presented here. Its base is the basic Hendrick's formula enriched with exotic botanicals from the Amazon jungle. In 2013, Gracie spent several weeks in the Amazon basin and is said to remain enchanted by the local sights, aromas, sounds and local traditions. (In 2018, the company’s management built a greenhouse to grow oriental plants for use in future Hendrick’s gins.) Amazonia Gin is presented in the brand’s signature “pharmacy” bottle, this time with a label in the color of a tropical forest.
Amazonia Gin carries a breath of tropical (roses, aromatic forest flowers) and fruit (pineapple, orange) floral tones balanced with vanilla, juniper and the brand's signature cucumber notes. The producer recommends serving it with premium tonics, a few cucumber slices and a pineapple leaf.
