Product description

Glenmorangie Distillery was built in 1843 by William Matheson, manager of the Balblair distillery. Morangie Farm had been famous for its illegal whisky production since the mid-17th century.
Matheson suffered from a lack of capital, contenting himself with a pair of used stills with extremely high necks, their height exceeding 5 meters. Currently, the plant has 12 of them, and all are faithful copies of the originals. Glenmorangie single malt has been available since the 1920s and we can risk saying that the 10-year-old version found buyers long before World War II. The whisky is aged exclusively in barrels made of white American oak. Here we present the historic edition of Glenmorangie 10 years old from 1990, released on the occasion of the victory of Scottish rugby players over the England team in the final match of the most important tournament of this discipline.

Aroma : fresh, a bit of grass and wax, apples, orange peel, sweet cereals, vanilla, honey, a handful of garden herbs and a distant trace of peat.

Palate: malty with subtle mineral notes, vanilla, buttered toast, apples, peaches, lemon peel, a pinch of salt and pepper and a light oak bitterness.

Finish : fairly long, malty, with notes of vanilla, apples, lemongrass, a pinch of salt and a subtle oak bitterness.
