Product description
Glen Moray Distillery began life in 1897 in buildings that were formerly the Elgin West Brewery. Despite being situated on the River Lossie on the outskirts of Elgin, Glen Moray single malts were released in the 1970s and 1980s with the suffix ‘Glenlivet’. Of the more than thirty distilleries that have adopted the name of the famous Glenlivet River into their names, Glen Moray was the furthest from it. Today, the distillery is owned by the French company La Martiniquaise and produces 5.7 million litres of distillate annually. The Glen Moray presented here is a candidate for Hunter Laing & Co.’s ‘Old Malt Cask’ series. Distilled in April 2004, the whisky was aged in a refilled hogshead cask, HL 16561, for over 15 years.
