Compass Box Delilah's XXV / 46%/ 0.7l

Compass Box Delilah's XXV was released in April 2018 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Chicago punk rock whiskey bar.

The key to its formula was the original 2013 Delilah's (48% Cameronbridge, 40% Teaninich and 12% Glen Elgin, all aged in American oak barrels). Delilah's XXV contains 29% original blend, 10.5% Cameronbridge and 10.5% Miltonduff (aged in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels) and 20% Teaninich, 15% "malt from a distillery near Aberlour" and 15% Linkwood (aged in first-fill ex-sherry butts). The anniversary edition was 8,520 bottles long.

Nose: clear notes of sherry, apple, pear, nectarine, milk chocolate, honey, toffee, vanilla, nutmeg, a touch of pepper and orange peel.

Palate : raisins, dried apricots, vanilla cream, caramel, milk fudge, nutmeg, cinnamon, a pinch of ginger, sherry and oak.

Finish: quite long, with notes of sherry, vanilla, honey, milk chocolate, cinnamon, cloves and oak.
