Product description
Amrut Distilleries Ltd. is headquartered in Bangalore and produces approximately 50 million bottles of distilled spirits annually, mainly rum, brandy, gin, vodka and local blended whisky.
In addition to the distillation columns, the plant has two pairs of stills (the second was installed in 2018) capable of distilling about 800,000 liters of spirit per year. Single malt Amrut debuted in 2004 and its popularity is growing year by year. The hot and humid climate of India accelerates maturation, but increases the so-called Angel's share, up to 14% per year, hence the whisky is usually aged for 3-4 years. Amrut Peated Cask Strength was added to the offer in 2008, the bottle presented here comes from batch no. 54, bottled in December 2019. The whisky was distilled from malt with a concentration of phenol compounds of 23 ppm, imported from Scotland.
