Savanna Rum was founded in the 1870s in Saint Paul on Reunion Island, a French overseas possession in the Indian Ocean.
It took its name from an estate where a sugar cane plantation and a sugar mill were located at the beginning of the 19th century. However, the intensive development of the distillery and expansion into world markets did not occur until the end of the 20th century.
Savanna Lontan Blac is a white rum obtained through an extremely long fermentation, lasting over a week. The result of such a long fermentation is an unusual concentration of aromatic compounds, called esters.
Nose : Green and black olives, brine, floral notes, reed, lemon, leather, herbal notes, raisins.
Taste : Creamy, full of notes of exotic fruits, olives, anchovies, plant accents.
Finish: Long, fruity and olive.
