Product description
Cedar Ridge Distillery began in 2005 on the site of Cedar Ridge Vineyards, which had been founded two years earlier by Jeff and Laurie Quint.
Cedar Ridge is the first legal whiskey producer in Iowa since Prohibition. In recent years, we have seen more and more actors and musicians involved in advertising, and less often in production, of spirits. Slipknot No. 9 Iowa whiskey is the result of cooperation between Cedar Ridge Distillery and the heavy metal band Slipknot from Des Moines, Iowa, performing in characteristic masks. It is a blend of bourbon (60%) and rye whiskey (40%) from Cedar Ridge Distillery and aged for 3 to 4 years. The accidental formula of Slipknot No. 9 is, as we read on the distillery's website, 51% corn, 35% malted rye and 14% malted barley.
Nose: freshly baked cornbread, honey, vanilla, caramel, baked apples, red pepper and a hint of smoky paprika.
Palate: popcorn, buttered toast, chocolate biscuits, vanilla, caramel, apple jam, cinnamon, cloves, a pinch of pepper and cumin.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, cinnamon, pepper, milk chocolate and oak.
