- GlenDronach Traditionally Peated was launched in the fall of 2019 as part of the distillery core range.
Product description
GlenDronach Traditionally Peated was added to the core range in 2019 and is a nod to the distillery’s founder, James Allardice.
GlenDronach has been making whisky since 1826, and there’s no doubt that back then, the barley was malted with peat. The modern Peated version debuted in 2015; a modest release, with no indication of continuity. While that edition was made from distillates aged in ex-bourbon casks and finished in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and bottled at 46% abv, this new one uses Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks and port casks, and has been raised to 48%.
