Product description
Tamnavulin, Gaelic for ‘the mill on the hill’, is a young and modern distillery based in the Speyside region.
Built in 1966 by Invergordon Distillers Ltd, it has been owned by Whyte & Mackay since 1993 (acquired in 2014 by the Philippines' Emperador Inc). Tamnavulin did not distill between 1995 and 2007, but is currently operating at full steam, producing 4 million liters of distillate per year. The lion's share of production is used to blend Whyte & Mackay, although a few single malt editions have recently hit the market. Tamnavulin Sherry Cask Edition is a proposal from May 2019. The whisky used in it was initially aged in American oak barrels, then finished in Oloroso sherry barrels from three different producers.
