Product description
Arran Sherry Cask The Bodega was added to the distillery core range in the fall of 2019.
The whisky is aged exclusively in first fill 250-liters ex-sherry hogsheads sourced from the most prestigious sherry bodegas in Jerez, Spain and bottled at natural strength without chill-filtration and coloring. Although Arran the Bodega does not carry age statement it was aged for about seven years. This expression marks a return to the style of some of the earliest Arran Single Malt, which was mostly matured in ex-sherry casks. In September 2019 Arran single malt got a new modern look, it is being now presented in bespoke bottles with new labels and gift tubes.
Nose: rich sherry notes, dried figs and dates, cherries, orange peel, walnuts, cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa, dash of pepper, traces of potpourri and hay.
Palate: oranges, raisins, prunes, black cherries, milk chocolate, toffee, ginger, black pepper, cloves, dash of cardamom and hints of tobacco.
Finish: fairly long and bittersweet, with note of dried fruit, pepper, ginger, mixed nuts and toasted oak.
