Product description
The origins of Emilio Lustau S.A. date back to 1896, when José Ruiz-Berdejo, a secretary to the Court Justice, started cultivating the vines of the family’s estate named Nuestra Señora Esperanza in his spare time.
He made wines and sold them to sherry producers. In the 1940s his son-in-law moved the winery to the historic quarter of Jerez de la Frontera and in few years the family launched their own brands. Lustau merged with Luis Caballero, another prominent family owned company in 1990 and today heads the Luis Caballero Group’s Sherry Division.
Lustau Amontillado 30 years old VORS (Very Old Rare Sherry) has its origin in the search and selection that Manuel Lozano, winemaker of Lustau conducted among the company oldest wines. VORS sherry wines are subjected to very strict regulations that allow them an outrun up to only 1000 bottles, capacity 500ml each. Lustau Amontillado VORS is made from 100% Palomino grapes and comes from selection of only eight casks.
“Lustau Amontillado 30 VORS has dark amber color and aromas reminiscent of butterscotch, noble wood, old leather and furniture polish. Savory, almost saline, typical of the concentration found in the Amontillados of such long ageing”. Serving temperature 13-14ºC.
